Two partners, since 2014. Six people, on a good week.

Astrid Halm

Astrid Halm

Co-founder · Identity, art direction

Astrid trained at KADK and then spent six years at Stockholm Design Lab, where she led the rebrand of a Nordic airline and two of its competitors (she says less about the competitors). She lectures at KADK and sits on the RSA's awards jury.

She reads mostly history. She says the best thing about running a small studio is turning down the wrong brief.

Peter Vogel

Peter Vogel

Co-founder · Editorial, type

Peter spent eight years at Pentagram Berlin before moving north for reasons he'll explain if you ask. He thinks about text for a living — kerning, hierarchy, and the way a page feels before you read it.

He has a side-project publishing three letterpress booklets a year. None of them are for sale.

How we work · four principles iv
i

The work is the pitch.

We don't make decks. We make work, and we show it when it's ready. Sometimes that takes a week longer than it should. It's usually worth it.

ii

Six people, two partners.

Every project passes through one of us. Some through both. Nothing leaves the studio without someone who's been here five years looking at it.

iii

Fewer systems, better ones.

We'd rather build one design system that lasts a decade than three that look busy in the case study. Systems are a long job.

iv

Say no often.

We turn down four briefs for every one we take. Not because we're precious. Because the right brief is the whole job.
